A little help, whenever you need it

Let’s get your
words moving.

Setup help for the Mac and iPhone private previews.

On your Mac

Open Flocalize from Applications. Complete the microphone and speech setup, then enable Accessibility for Flocalize when prompted. Choose your dictation shortcut in Settings. Put your cursor in a draft, hold the shortcut, speak, and release. If an app won’t accept text insertion, use your copied result.

On your iPhone

Open Flocalize, allow microphone and speech access when you’re ready, and start a dictation. Stop to review your draft. Use Copy, the share sheet, or Messages to take the text into another app. There is no Flocalize system keyboard extension in the current preview.

With Siri and Shortcuts

In Shortcuts, look for Flocalize’s Start Dictation, Copy Latest Dictation, and Get Latest Dictation Text actions. Starting a recording opens Flocalize in the foreground. You can use the returned text in a shortcut you control.

Something didn’t sound right?

Try a short sentence in a quiet room, check your selected engine and punctuation mode, and add unfamiliar names to your dictionary. If you contact us, include the device, OS version, app version, and what you expected to happen. Share a made-up example instead of private messages or recordings.
